Þ vs Ð in the name

It seems that the use of "th" does indeed sound right, so no question there. Instead, would it make more sense to list this one as Eðna? It seems more natural to me to wanna voice the "th" (just as in "other"). — ᚹᚩᛞᛖᚾᚻᛖᛚᛗ 21:32, 17 Mǣdmōnaþ 2009 (UTC)

...except that the texts use a Þ. (Well, Ælfred's Orosius does, calling it Eþna or at one point Æþna.) I don't know of any alternative spelling in another text.

Interestingly, if irrelevant to this article, Ð sometime appears in such texts on occasion where the native name would have a D, as in Gaðes' for Gades (Cadiz). The again, Þ can appear like that too.

It is odd that some Greek names (Athena, Thraki) have a "T" or "Th" in the Englisc text where once would expect the theta to be written with a Þ. I blame the Romans. We cling to autheticity wherever we can.
