OK, I'm not sure about whether "cēcel" could mean cake or something equivalent to a cookie. The "-el" could well be a diminutive suffix and the word itself means "little cake". This is relevant because in Dutch the word "koek" becomes "koekje" with its diminutive, and in Dutch this is used to mean "cookie". I was thinking that the word for cake might be "cēc" (which OK, I think isn't attested). Anyone got any thoughts or suggestions? --Gherkinmad 20:30, 15 Se Æfterra Gēola 2009 (UTC)[reply]
