Why do we need a new word for ball? The English were familiar with spheres - or so their vocabulary indicates.   Ƿes hāl!    06:40, 3 Solmōnaþ 2011 (UTC)

True, and familiar with ball games too. We have þōþer, cliwe, cliewen, trendel, æppel and others. Hogweard 09:27, 3 Solmōnaþ 2011 (UTC)

It was indeed found in OE, although of ON origin.[1] Plus it helps keep sports vocab in line with the rest of the world. — ᚹᚩᛞᛖᚾᚻᛖᛚᛗ (ᚷᛖᛋᛈᚱᛖᚳ) 14:56, 3 Solmōnaþ 2011 (UTC)
Whether or not it was used in OE, it has not been documented. It is a logical deduction that since it appears to have been already in use by ME, it was probably introduced at some earlier stage; but since that is not attested, such a word has reconstructed or modern borrowing status, as opposed to various sufficient words which do not have such status.   Ƿes hāl!    21:24, 3 Solmōnaþ 2011 (UTC)

kingdom

[adiht fruman]

Multiple words for "kingdom" already exist: Cynedom, Cyningdom, Cynerice, Cyningric. Since the propose cynerice too pre-existed, it can be safely removed from the neologisms without additional editing on other pages. Villhelm "Micellic bēonde Cannenefað" Frysa (mōtung)
