Towritenness
English: Street car - the Hague, Holland

Date not recorded, but some time in the first few decades of the 20th century.

This is a picture of a tramcar in The Hague (Den Haag) at Rijnstraat in front of the Staatsspoor. This station building was originally used for trains to Utrecht. At this site the completely new Central Station arose in 1973. De tramcar is numbered 1, so it's the very first electric tramcar that ever got on the tracks in The Hague. It's on the number 4 line, a small and short line which went from this point to the Plein, Binnenhof and via a very narrow street called 'Westeinde' to its terminus 'Loosduinsebrug'. Because the cars were orginally blue, and now cream (on this pic), it must be after WW I.
