A Tungol is a star. Planeta is an old English word. It's in the Bosworth and Toller dictionary.

The copy of B&T I referred to doesn't have "planeta". It does though give tungol as "star or heavenly body". Specifically is quotes the phrase ""Ða seofon dweligendan tunglan" for the planets (seven because classical reckoning include the Sun and Moon).
"Dweoligend" (erring or wandering) translates the Greek "planētēs" (wanderer), because the planets do not follow the other stars' nightly way across the heavens.

I could've sworn it was in there. I had seen it on this site too as a masculine weak noun...
Well I'd say that Hogweard just put you in your place, buddy.

Well, I'm not perfect, and neither is the online B&T. However the preference should be a Germanic form, I believe. Hogweard 12:51, 24 Solmōnaþ 2009 (UTC)
