[adihtan fruman]I would stick with Helsingfors, or Hælsingafors at a pinch. The Norse word fors (waterfall; torrent) has no Old Engish cognate, so it would have to be left.
I know of no OE source referring to Helsingfors, or in fact to any -fors place-name. Hogweard (motung) 17:16, 18 Blotmonað 2025 (UTC)
