English: Tug of war; U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. (May 17, 2005) - Freshmen, known as "Plebes," participate in an 11.5 hour rigorous physical and mental challenge at the United States Naval Academy known as "Sea Trials." This day-long, action-oriented event, modeled after the U.S. Marine Corps' 54-hour "Crucible" and the Navy's "Battle Stations" training tests, requires plebes to use skills they have learned during their first year at the Naval Academy.
