Myrra is rēad-brūn trēoƿteruliċ ontimber, þæt ȝedrȳȝde sæp þæs Commiphora myrrha trēoƿes, ȝeƿuna Sōmalian. Sumu ōðru Commiphora oþþe Balsamodendron sapu sind ȝecnāƿen ēac sƿā myrran, behæbbende þā of Commiphora erythraea (hƿīltīdum ȝehāten East Indisc myrra), Commiphora opobalsamum, and Balsamodendron kua.

Myrra is a constituent of perfumes and stērunge, and was highly prized in ancient times. Myrra ƿæs ān þāra ȝiefa þāra Magi þǣm ċilde Jesus in the story told in the Gospel of Matthew. Myrrh ƿæs ȝenoten sƿā stērung in dēaþþeȝnungum and onæscungum, a story alluded to in the Christmas carol Ƿē Þrīe Cyningas.
