Brūcend:Hogweard What would be the plural form for "stæfrōf"? Or how is "scripts" in Old English? Jaqeli (talk) 00:27, 26 Hrēþmōnaþ 2015 (UTC)

Good question. Erm, I do not know. Stæfrōf is authentic, but rare and I do not know the plural. If it is like hrōf then it is masculine and presumably then stæfrōfas. Generally on ang: we have used stæfrǣw, which is feminine, and the plural might be stæfrāwa. I am happy to be told that I am wrong. Hogweard (talk) 11:21, 26 Hrēþmōnaþ 2015 (UTC)
Brūcend:Hogweard So "Georgian scripts" will be Georgisc stæfrāwa? Jaqeli (talk) 11:49, 26 Hrēþmōnaþ 2015 (UTC)
If I am right about the plurals, and if we can render "Georgian" as Georgisc (which I think we must, unless there is a dusty text somewhere referring to the language of Colchis as something else) then it would need the feminine plural declension and be Georgisca stæfrāwa. If in the text you refer to "The Georgian alphabets" then it would be þā Georgiscan stæfrāwa. I have found some useful grammar tables (not academic, but by a keen amateur) at Gemotstow - Gramar tables. Hogweard (talk) 13:08, 26 Hrēþmōnaþ 2015 (UTC)

Brūcend:Hogweard Do you know how is word "letters" in Old English? Jaqeli (talk) 14:17, 26 Hrēþmōnaþ 2015 (UTC)

Singular 'letter' is bōcstæf. Plural 'letters' is bōcstafas. Hogweard (talk) 20:45, 26 Hrēþmōnaþ 2015 (UTC)
